When to Book:

Your baby's newborn photos are a once-in-a-lifetime event! We can't predict how everything will go, but there are plenty of ways to plan ahead. The ideal time to do photos is between 5-14 days old. During this time, baby is still sleepy and curled-up for those sweet little poses. So, please try to book early. I will do newborn sessions up to 3 weeks old. With that in mind we will do what is possible to keep baby sleeping soundly:

Helpful tips:

-It needs to be WARM, so I will have the heat turned up a bit
-Pacifiers can be very helpful if you are open to using one
-I will have white noise going to keep things calm
-A feeding before the photoshoot is helpful, but not required
-If baby just isn't sleeping, we can get some great awake poses too!

Photo shoot breaks:

One of the most important things to remember is that your baby is in charge of the photo shoot. If they are not happy with any pose or outfit we will simply move on to the next one. A happy baby equals better photos! If at any time you feel the need 
to call a time-out, please don't hesitate to speak up. Baby can be fed or held if you ever feel a break is in order. The 2 hour time frame leaves us some wiggle room in case your baby gets hungry or needs a snuggle.

Creative art:

I also do digital backdrops like these, which can create whimsical scenery for your baby's photos. If you are interested in this type of picture, let me know so I can be sure we get the right poses to put into the backgrounds.

I have a studio location on the side of our home near Lakewood Village (far west side of Little Elm.) The address is

The studio is my top suggestion if possible, because it gives us more choices and makes everything go more quickly during the session. All of the props and scenes can be set up ahead of time to make it easy to transition between shots. I also have extra equipment and props available if we need them. But if you would rather have me come to you, I can bring the lights, camera and action your way. For a $60 travel free, I will load everything up and bring it to your home. We will need an area cleared out that is about 8 feet square. It doesn't matter what your lighting is like or what is showing in the background. I will take care of all of those things with my lights and backdrops. Planning ahead will be important so I can pack exactly what is needed for your photos. This can be a good option if mom is having a difficult recovery, especially. I travel to Frisco, Aubrey, Little Elm, McKinney, Prosper, Lewisville or Denton. If you live outside of those areas we can discuss options.

Family photos:

Soft, muted color outfits photograph well- try to avoid busy prints. You might also want to avoid large logos or text. Clothes don't need to match exactly! Different shades of tan, gray and blue will create a classic look. But feel free to bring your own sense of style and color to the session! Sometimes families like the look of white outfits for an airy look. My only suggestion would be to keep everything light in that situation, not mixing in dark with light. If you are planning to use the photos printed in your home, you might want to consider wearing colors that will blend with your decor. 
​These portraits are usually framed to show the connection between the family, so they focus on faces. Usually only the top half or 3/4 of the body are showing in the pictures. I will take a few traditional photos and also some backlit shadowy shots with a white background. If you have special requests please be sure to let me know before the session.
I will usually try to do the family pictures first if there is a sibling, so they won't get too bored or tired by the end of the 2 hours. One parent might want to take a sibling for a walk or drive while we finish the rest of the baby photos if they feel restless, since the space is rather small.

After the session:

About one week after your session, at least 30 proof photos will go into an online gallery with logos on them. These will only have very light edits/cropping. (There may still be wrinkles or other items showing in the background.) You can choose the poses you like from the gallery. 5 photos of your choice are included in the base price. Any others you want will be $20 each. I will then edit the photos you choose. I take out baby acne, flaky skin and any marks that are temporary. Birthmarks and hair on skin can be photoshopped out or left, depending on what your preference is. I will lightly retouch skin for other family members as well. There may be wrinkles in backdrops and other issues that will get corrected in this process to get a perfect product. I will go over every detail on the photos you choose to purchase! I do not give out any unedited/raw photos, so be sure to choose any photos you would like to keep! One week after you make your selection, I will have your high-resolution digital files ready for you to download. You will receive a dropbox link to download your files to your own computer when everything is completed. If you want prints, canvas or other products, I can provide them or point you in the right direction to order quality products for yourself.

Pricing and Payment:

​ SPECIAL DISCOUNT 20% off session fee for newborns booked this month ($240 total session fee)
-The basic newborn session fee is $300, which includes the 2 hour photoshoot plus 5 digital images
-Additional photos are $20 each (these can be paid for when completed)
-Travel fee is an additional $60 within 30 minutes of 75068
​A $50 deposit will hold your reservation, which goes toward your session fee
The remainder is due on photo day
